Phone-in Policy

As in the past, we are requesting that parents telephone the school office if their child is going to be absent.  The most efficient way to do this is to use the following number (586) 752-0261 and leave a message on the answering machine.  Please do not use this number for any other reason but to report an absence.  Our normal business number is 752-0260.  The answering machine will always be on.  Please help us by calling the school as soon as you are aware that your child will be absent.

School Closing Information

The safety of the Romeo Community Schools’ students is always a top priority.  Closing school is a very complex and complicated issue and therefore, the Superintendent of Schools uses a compilation of data from several sources in order to determine when school will be closed due to the weather conditions.  Information is gathered from the district’s Transportation Department regarding the ability of buses to safely travel the roads; various weather bureaus on the temperature, wind chill and changing weather conditions; other school districts; and police agencies.


When schools are closed, the information is given via Instant Alert phone calls and email.  Parents are also encouraged to watch Channel Fox-2 WJBK, Channel 4 WDIV, Channel 7 WXYZ, Channel UPN-50 WKBD, or listen to radio stations WWJ 950 AM, WJR 760 AM and WKQI 95.5 FM.



Denial of Permission to Publish to RCS Website


Romeo Community Schools staff members publish pictures of students, school events, and student work to our website, Facebook page, Twitter and other web based applications, www.romeo.k12.mi.us.


These guidelines are followed:


  • Personally identifiable information will not be published.  Individual student photos will not be published without expressed written permission from the parent or gaurdian.  Only group photos of three or more students will be used.
  • No personal information about students, such as home address or telephone number will be published.


If you do NOT give permission for your child’s work or photo to be published, you must fill out a Denial of Permission to Publish form for each student.  Click on the link below to open the PDF file .


If you choose to fill out the form, it is important to return it to the office as soon as possible so your child’s teacher can be informed.
