Principal's Profile

Welcome back to another exciting year at Hamilton-Parsons Elementary School! Romeo Community Schools has a long withstanding of educational excellence, pride, and tradition. You will find that Ham-Par is an amazing place; one that is an excellent choice for your child(ren) and their education!

As lead learner at Hamilton-Parsons, myself and the staff continue to believe that it is a shared responsibility to foster a caring, nurturing, and inviting learning space where children, as future leaders, are comfortable and safe. As principal, my role is to ensure that the importance of education stays in the forefront, as our compass of decision-making; to make certain the positive growth of a child. We launched and guaranteed this commitment, as you are aware, to ensure that our students are responsible, motivated, problem solvers that are ready for the 21st centuries as leaders last year! We are excited to elaborate and expand upon this daily promise.

As we committed to our four year leadership mantra and adoption process. Last year, Hamilton-Parsons was the 120th Leader in Me school last year and now there are almost 400 schools statewide! The Leader in Me program is based upon the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. It empowers young people to make positive, effective, and responsible choices by reinforcing the seven habits. These habits are:

Habit #1: Be proactive - take responsibility and initiative
Habit #2: Begin with the end in mind- plan and set goals
Habit #3: Put first things first- set priorities and practice discipline
Habit #4: Think win-win - consider others and seek alternatives to conflict
Habit #5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood - listen to others, learn from their views
Habit #6: Synergize - value others’ strengths and team with others to solve problems
Habit #7: Sharpen the saw - taking care of one’s self, learning, and finding meaning outside of school

As always, I have an open door policy. Please feel free to write a note, stop by the office, email, or call me. If I am not available, I will be in touch with you as soon as I am able. In sum, as the instructional leader, I look forward to our bright future here at Hamilton-Parsons Elementary! Thank you for rising to the challenge to co-create future leaders and a magnificent school as we embark on year two of our leadership journey. Let’s continue to inspire each other as we embark on a successful 2016-2017 school year! After all, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz captures it best, “there’s no place like home!” Welcome (back) home!

With Ham-Par pride,
